On July 16th at approximately 2330 hours, Ulster Hose was dispatched for a reported stove fire at the Ulster Gardens Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, Car 3 had an audible alarm sounding and tenants reporting a kitchen fire. Car 3, Car 4 and the Engine 4 crew encountered a heavy smoke condition on the third floor of the building with a sprinkler activated in the apartment reported to be on fire. The fire was held to the kitchen area by one part of the Engine 4 crew, while the other part assisted the Ladder 2 crew in evacuating residents and conducting primary searches. UHFD was assisted by Glasco Fire Department (Company 29), Central Hudson, and the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit.
