Stove Fire in the First Due

On July 16th at approximately 2330 hours, Ulster Hose was dispatched for a reported stove fire at the Ulster Gardens Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, Car 3 had an audible alarm sounding and tenants reporting a kitchen fire. Car 3, Car 4 and the Engine 4 crew encountered a heavy smoke condition on the third floor of the building with a sprinkler activated in the apartment reported to be on fire. The fire was held to the kitchen area by one part of the Engine 4 crew, while the other part assisted the Ladder 2 crew in evacuating residents and conducting primary searches. UHFD was assisted by Glasco Fire Department (Company 29), Central Hudson, and the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit. Captain Fredericks looks on from Engine 4 as Ladder 2 is deployed to the third floor of Ulster Gardens during the stove fire on July 16th.
