On Monday, November 24th, Ulster Hose members participated in their weekly training with a special presentation sponsored by the department’s Ladies Auxiliary. Aimee Bauer, a special education teacher, was kind enough to lend her time in sharing the information. The training included simulated scenario videos, a dos and don’ts guide, and hands-on educator experience that will help Ulster Hose members to be better equipped to interact with these individuals.
As part of this informative training, the Ladies Auxiliary also put together bags, through a campaign called “Kora’s Krusade,” in which the bag contains helpful materials and objects that can better assist first responders in communicating with, and properly handling or treating, patients with autism.
