The officers and members of Ulster Hose Co. 5 extend our deepest condolences to the Phoenicia Fire District, as well as the family and friends of Firefighter/Commissioner Michael J. Ryan. Firefighter Ryan tragically passed away in the Line of Duty, operating at a rescue call in which he suffered a medical emergency. Michael J. Ryan was also a retired officer with the Kingston Police Department, where he served with many years of faithful service. However, following retirement, he continued working within the training division, educating the current and new recruits of the police community. Officer Ryan was a shining example of community service and he will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
