On January 2nd at approximately 0433 hours, UHFD responded to a car versus train MVA that Ulster Police Department called in after receiving a crash detection notification.
The driver was attempting to leave the parking lot of 55 Leggs Mill Road and subsequently drove their vehicle onto the railroad tracks where it became stuck. All attempts made by the operator to remove the vehicle from the tracks prior to the arrival of the CSX train were unsuccessful. The passengers in the vehicle were evaluated by Empress Ambulance and refused any medical treatment.
