On Thursday, May 28th at approximately 0338 hours, Ulster Hose was dispatched under automatic mutual aid to the Centerville-Cedar Grove Fire Department for a 2nd alarm working structure fire. Staffed with a full crew, Engine 4, along with Car 4, responded north to standby at the Cedar Grove Fire House. Not long after arrival at the station, Engine 4’s assignment was upgraded to the scene to act as the FASTeam, as Company 29 (Glasco) had been put to work. Soon after arrival at the scene, members were put to work at the scene, helping to knock down fire conditions on the second floor. Ulster Hose units were back in service at approximately 0529 hours, although other agencies remained on scene until well after noontime due to the nature of the fire. Unfortunately, this was a fatal fire, and Ulster Hose extends its thoughts and sympathy to the deceased subject as well as their family.
