On Tuesday, July 21st at 0627hrs Ulster Hose Co #5 was dispatched for a smoke condition in a commercial building. Update from UC911 while en route there was an unknown type fire in the structure and the building was full of smoke. On arrival Car 3 had a 50×100 Steel building, smoke showing from all garage doors. Car 3 made entry and had a pile of debris on fire, the building contained heavy timber products and processing equipment. Engine 4 arrived and stretched one preconnect line, while Engine 3 arrived and prepared to supply water, Tower Ladder 1 set up for aerial operations. The building was sprinkled and was able to contain most of the fire, there was a section of the building damaged and some heat and smoke damage. Interior crews overhauled and ventilated, tower ladder crew overhauled the exterior.
Scene was turned over to the Building Department and Fire Investigator.
