On July 21st at approximately 2151 hours, a dispatch went out for a two-car head on MVA at the intersection of Route 9W and Belvedere Lane. Car 2 arrived and reported one vehicle on its side with a patient still trapped, and another vehicle with 5 patients for evaluation due to injuries. Members aboard Engine 1 and Rescue 3 immediately stabilized both vehicles and quickly removed the patient in the car on its side. Dive Team

On July 16th at approximately 1854 hours, the dive team was dispatched to the Napanoch Fire District for a reported drowning. Working alongside the Ulster County Sheriff’s dive team and mutual aid companies already at the scene, divers and gear from UHFD entered the water in dangerous conditions and wooded area to try and locate the victim. One diver was deployed and quickly located the individual in about 5 minutes. Members then assisted the City of Kingston rope rescue team with removing the individual. Despite all efforts by first responders, the victim was pronounced at the scene. UHFD would like to offer our thoughts to the individual’s family and friends. The dive team was back in service at approximately 2300 hours.
