On Monday, August 10th at approximately 1650 hours, Ulster Hose was dispatched to a 2nd alarm structure fire in the Port Ewen Fire District. Ladder 2 responded with a crew of 7 for the FAST team, while Engine 4 responded to backfill the Port Ewen station. Upon arrival, Car 1 and Car 3 advised that Ladder 2’s crew would go to work assisting with fireground operations and Engine 4’s crew would assume FAST duties.
Crews operated on scene for approximately 2 hours, assisting with fire supprresion, vertical and horizontal ventilation, and overhaul.
