UHFD Sends 4 to Major Brush Fire in Grahamsville

On Saturday, November 9th at approximately 1144 hours, UHFD was requested by Ulster County 911 with personnel and the UTV to the scene of a major brush fire, which originated on Peekamoose Road near Grahamsville, with fire spreading across the Sullivan County-Ulster County border. The fire had originally been dispatched on November 8th at around 1515 hours, and numerous departments from Sullivan and Ulster County had already been up and down the mountain at that location. Ulster Hose Car 1 and three other members took unit 61-14 (Rescue 1) to tow the enclosed trailer containing unit 61-35 (UTV) and responded to the command post. Here, they were placed into a group with White Lake Fire Department, Neversink Fire Department and West Hurley Fire Department, and tasked with making sure that the fire line was fully established so that the spread of the fire would be minimized. Members were on scene until approximately 1900 hours.

This is everybody’s reminder that it is still dry! Please do not burn!
